Only Australians Can Do This

Michael Clarke declares an inning behind opposition score…! Yes, you heard it right he did that .You might have seen team batting first declare their innings but this time Australians breaking the shackles declared their inning when the team still trail by 43 runs .In cricket it is considered a matter to respect to play full quota and play until your all wickets fall ,declaring by the one who is setting the target is justified it can be seen as a challenge and an attitude of winning in a five day test match but when a team chasing chasing down declares it can be taken as a counter attack and proper answer to the challenge when the team doing this is Australia.

Now this decision shows a lot about character of Australians . A champions like attitude with self belief in themselves ,taking a decision and then proving it right with their performance and always playing for winning ,they never give up until the last moment of match .If we take this decision in consideration then as usual Australians are now in the commanding position as their bowlers have backed their captains decision .Whatever may be the result of this match they have created history by taking such unorthodox decision and set and another example for other teams of how to pick the right moments in the match and turn it to their side and has proven once again that a contest between two unequal sides cannot continue to be close for long ,when the stronger team plays to its potential ,the difference is for the world to see.

Sachin Can Never Retire

The moment a player cross the official retirement of age in cricket another question get added to the list of their press conference questions-“When are you retiring from cricket ?” no matter how many runs they are making , whatever form they are in they have to answer this question ,it’s a part of their career .

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar who will turn 39 on 24th April 2012 is answering this question for the  last  five to six years .Its been one year since we won the world cup and since then don’t know how many times in a day he is been  asked this question of retirement ,does the people ask it just because they have to ask it..??probably yes. For a person who is called as a God of cricket who commands respect in all parts of the world ,who is on top of all major international record ,the one who is having maximum runs in ODIs and Tests ,the one with highest number of centuries ,the one who has excelled in all formats of games ,the one who binds a nation , the one on whom a nation rely on ,the one for whom many watch cricket , the one who defines batting , the one who is serving the nation for over 22 years , the one who is always on national duty ,the one who only lives for cricket ,and the one who is idle of many young cricketers and many wants to become like him, how can such a person retire from cricket. He can never be- his records are nearly unbreakable ,his stature is unmatched and many who wants to become like him will always keep him  in this game ,a nation which unites for him can never let him to get retired .

I wonder how this cricket crazy nation would react when the maestro finally take the official call ,many would may stop watching cricket ,and those who will watch surly watch it with Sachin factor in their mind and those who play will be indirectly chasing the Sachin’s record , he had such a strong impact on this game that he will always remain on the field and can never ever retired .I consider my self very luck to have got the privilege to watch this best willow wielder in world who defines cricket to me .You are never going to retire sir from past ,present and future of cricket.

Death Of A Gentleman

“Death Of A Gentleman”- a documentary in progress to save the existence of test cricket ,the move itself is very commendable but the big question is what exactly went wrong which has left the original format of cricket fight for its existence.

With the advent of technology world is moving very fast now a days and every one is  running short of time for no reason and want success as early as possible in very short time and with this human mentality over time from five day test matches to one dayers and now the T20 which demand only three and a half hour from any ones life and assure super entertainment within 40 overs has given serious challenge to the existence of  a full day 100 overs game and a 5 dayer game and mind you these all are the formats of the same game whose fan followings are now a days are inversely proportional to the time taken.

“Cricket is a gentleman’s game” this saying is known for its pure format that is the test cricket and will always be known for that .Looking at the popularity of shorter version of game the next generation might not believe that their was a format called test cricket which was played for five days in which player play for 90 overs in a day distributed in three sessions and for no reason each side play twice just to get a result but what the hell viewers watch  for 5 days ,how in the world they had so much of time..?? these are some obvious question which will be raised by generation next looking at the present trend and cricket will no more be called as a gentleman’s  game .

Test cricket defines a cricketer. If we look at the great legends which the game has produced from Don Bradman , Vivian Richards , Steve Waugh ,Brian Lara ,Rahul Dravid , Sachin Tendulkar and all big names which you admire have achieved their stature through test cricket only .They have mastered in the basic form of cricket and that’s why they excelled in all formats of cricket but the modern day trend is reverse the young cricketers are constantly failing to perform in this format of game , if one wants to be a cricketer I don’t think they might be having any short of time for that ,then what they lack so badly that now a days test cricket donot even last for full five days .Skill ,potential ?? Probably not..!!The modern day cricket has also became very fast ,now a days cricketers have to play round the years with almost nil gaps and with this excess of cricket the test cricket which checks the cricketers at all level these modern day cricketers fails or rather get exposed and their skill remains trapped inside  their fitness and tired mind which demand rest.  That’s why in the last 7-8 years game has not given any gentleman, it is just getting ahead with its well established gentlemen .

Test cricket demands fitness and cricketers normally have a retirement age of 35 years and all the gentleman’s through which this format exists have crossed this age or are inching toward it which clearly indicates that in near future we will not be having gentleman’s in this game if nothing is done to save this format. We may have many cricketers but we will not have legends, we cannot expect a history to be written, we can just count on the crowded numbers . 

Its Not Just A Game Its A Religion

“28 years of long wait for nation where its not just a game it’s a religion ,sixth attempt for the person who is the God of this religion ,for 21 years  the maestro lived a dream ,can he achieve that ultimate glory…can  the men in blue finish off the job this time which was left in 2003….”this was my punch line for world cup 2011 which have got emotions involved in it and the popularity which these lines gained says it all .

India is the land of festivity, unity in diversity is the one principle which makes us unique. India is the only country where people of different religion lives together and it also cannot be denied that Cricket is one religion which binds people of all this religion together ,and the cricketer are their god ,people have a string belief in this game ,Cricket is the maximum followed ,maximum taught ,maximum watched, maximum listened and maximum talked religion in India .The inclinational towards the game is so high that the first toy which almost all children get in their childhood in this county is bat and ball and cricket is the first game which game they learn to play .Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is the most followed God of religion ,his every run is nations run , peoples take part with him in his every moment of life. The way how a person with a game like cricket can unite a nation which is having different religions is itself a matter of inspiration .One may have different business strategy ,one may have different field of work ,Politicians may stand against each other but Together We Stand For Cricket .

Schizophrenic IPL

Lights Cricket Action – That’s what IPL is known for!!!! It have got every thing with it -name , fame and money , unpredictability at its best both in the game and for the players of their career. Many experts have mixed opinion about this format probably it is the last thing they recommend about cricket and hence as they are uncertain about its future.

IPL has entered into its fifth successful year and no doubt it has given a perfect platform for the youngsters to play with the best international players of different countries and learn from them , it can make any one hero overnight and can also take one to the astray. But choosing only this format can proved to be biggest mistake .As many youngsters are focusing on this format only, as short cut always attract every one but it cut short your career .Therefore it became very important for the players to give priority to the first class cricket if they want a extended career in cricket.

As if we analyze the international players who play IPLs then maximum of them, are either retired ,some are not currently in their international team ,those who are playing have proven themselves in all format of the game and obviously every member of current Indian is playing but there are some also who  put their country first .Well if we talk about the first category about the retired ones they have nothing to loose but have many thing to give to the youngsters ,if we  take the ones who are currently  not  in the team then they are focusing on first class cricket and IPLs to perform well and get their position back and the third one have nothing to prove they are just enjoying their game and their success and failure in IPL wont affect their stature and international career but talking about the untold category i.e. of the players who just play for IPLs and even ready to skip the first class cricket so as to not get injured what they are going to achieve out of this ,where are they all going ?? The one of that category should also decide their priority if they have to make career in cricket with domestic cricket first and then IPL .Of course playing IPL is not harm it has very positives associated with it but one should try to go in at least one of the recognized group having some purpose.

IPLs gives a international exposure to the domestic players and can prove to be great learning experience. With so man fomats introduced ,international cricket it can be rated now as Test Cricket>ODI Cricket>T-20>IPL and the domestic player which lie between  ODI and T-20 the players should decide their priority and try to go up in the order rather then going down the order.

From an international audience point of view also the rating is same ,but for now its time for that part of the year when cricket has maximum fan following ,it the time for electrifying IPL5 so hold on your nerves get ready for some  power packed hefty performances…!!!!!!!!!!

A perfect captain ,a great finisher and a very cool personality who do not express his feeling – whether his team lose or win ,for other it may be a matter of joy or sorrow but for him every match is just a another day in business .

If you are successful then every thing you do is considered right and  Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one such successful man who take unorthodox decisions and then try to prove it right !!! Yes he takes a decision and backs it either by the players performance or by his own performance .A willing, desire ,and  belief in himself is what takes out best from him .His track record in every format of game is superb ,he has taken India to the top ranking in test cricket ,India became world champions after 28 years under his captaincy  ,he converted two successive IPL title for his team Chennai Super Kings and also made it to grab the Champions League T-20 title .From cricketing point of view one would surly doesn’t recommends anyone to follow his technique but the success rate is very lucrative .He has the capability to bring out the best from any given bunch of players by sheer belief .”Belief” that’s the golden rule with which team India enter into ground and are ready to face any pressure situation and in fact that’s what making a great impact because handling the pressure situation is one area where this team has shown tremendous improvement and the belief always acts as catalyst for players to give their best.

No doubt Sourav Ganguly has given new heights to India cricket ,in fact he is the perfect one to be recommended to look for .His leadership skills ,aggression ,confidence ,team spirit are ideal for any leader .He has given new heights to Indian team and started off with scratch  for the team and made India’ s presence counted .

Well India surly enjoys the history of two successful captains who has given new heights to the team  but both different in technique ,different in approach and it is very difficult to pick the best .Both are effective and both are successful but for now enjoy the super cool one for some more years..!!!!

     

Happy World Cup Winning Day

I was just 10 years old when I actually saw what it matters winning a world cup for India and I was not even born ,I think that is enough to define what cricket matters to him .Over 22 years and still he is learning cricket .Many legends came and retired but this man is getting younger with age, the game is surly not going to have a better student than him .

Ravindra Jadeja was just 4 days old ,Virat Kohil was just 35 days old ,Suresh Raina was  3 year old when Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar played his 1^st first class match ,they all grown up watching him play and now are playing with him!!! He is on top of almost all the records in international cricket but these numbers can not define what he served for nation. Ask for Test cricket ,One day cricket ,T-20 IPLs he has excelled in every format of cricket .He loves the language of batting that’s why he speaks with his bat only -you ask a question he will give you a answer with his bat... he enjoys answering !! Words really fell short to describe this great man.

“Enjoy the game and chase your dream ,because dreams do come true ,even I have to wait for my one for 22 years .”That’s the only thing I guess which he admitted in public for what he plays for .

Saturday 2^nd April 2011 Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar had a date with history at Wankhede Stadium ,Mumbai when he lived his 22 year old dream in his 6^th attempt ,the moment for which a nation waited for 28 long years ,the tears in every players eyes were enough to describe what a world cup matters to them .”World cup Winning Day “that’s how we should celebrate it .I have heard about that 1983 victory and if I have to define both than the  1983 win  was simply great and unexpected and that of 2011 was something very expected and great too ,a perfect heroic script of winning a world cup as their was action ,emotion ,drama every thing in it ,every match was important and we have many hero’s in that and the quarter final and semi final along with the final gives a perfect culmination to the script.

Believe it or not but  I actually had  predicted the D Day's events  just in the sequence it took place,starting from it would be between India and Sri Lanka , who's gonna win the toss , India is going it win it by chasing and MS Dhoni will do it for India !!!!!
